Bananada Festival was a music festival that happened yearly in Goiânia, Goiás - Brazil. As the biggest music event in town, it was anticipated and cherished by many people, including me.
For the visual design of the 21st edition in 2019, I was driven by my own relationship with the festival and how I've had experienced it. Bananada often felt as a different place. Another world that was summoned for a week straight, full of dancing, laughter, encounters and good, fresh music happening at different locations. Those were the feelings to create a collage that would be used in the poster and as the main source to a visual system, later developed by Coletivo Centopéia.
Images evoking music were collected from my old magazines archive to create this imagined place. Textures and drawings were explored, hi-def scanned to compose the walls, a pathway, maybe a sky?
